We've touched upon most of the material for the meet, so practice will improve your ability and confidence. Don't be discouraged by what you can't solve - go out and do your best!

   We need volunteer parents to drive - please let me know by next Thursday if you have a parent that can drive.


2. Print out and work on this old meet - http://www.imlem.org/meetdoc/2005Meet1f.pdf
   Again, give yourself time to properly understand each question and figure out what are the necessary step to get at the solution, even if you don't think you can solve the problem.

Assignments for Thursday 10/9

Hope you enjoyed our first session, here's what I'd like you to do before our next meeting:

1. Look at this old meet - http://www.imlem.org/meetdoc/2006Meet1c.pdf
   Take the time to tackle the problems on your own - make sure you understand the questions, and have an idea of what is required to get at the solution, even if you're not sure you can take all the steps on your own yet.
   Try not to look at the solutions before you give yourself enough time for each problem.
   We'll go over these at our next session (and new problems as time permits).
   
   Where do you have difficulties?
   
   


2. Pick your favorite categories - Each student can participate in 3 categories at a meet. Which ones do you like?
   


3. We could use a few more students, especially 7th and 8th graders - recruit!
